Comal 4 inch pear peg floats are the perfect tool to float/suspend your baits at the perfect depth in the water column to target suspended fish. They can be used as a slip bobber, or a peg float.
To use as a slip bobber/float: Simply pass your fishing line through the opening of the supplied black peg and add a bobber stop knot (sold separately) to achieve the desired depth. If you want to use them as a peg float, simply pass your fishing line through the opening in the float and use the supplied black peg to lock the float on your line at the delsier depth. This is the perfect technique for targeting fish in shallow water.
The Comal 4 inch pear peg float also works great for presenting suspended baits directly behind the boat when using planer boards. This technique allows you to cover more water and fill in the gap between your planer boards.
The Comal 4 inch pear float is also an effective choice for large baits when using a Santee rig. Placing the large 4 in pear float on your leader (between the stivel and the hook) on a standard Caroling rig, completes the Santee rig and effectively keeps those really large chunks of bait off the bottom. So when the usual 3 inch cigar float or the 2-1/2 inch oval float just don't offer enough buoyancy, give these 4 inch pear floats a try.
