Do-IT Downrigger Ball Sinker Molds
Precision engineered, this 2-piece mold is designed to give you a straight running ball. You will need your bench vise to stabilize the mold as well as heavier casting equipment.
Please Note: On the 15Lb mold the brass eye is not encased so you may get some lead leakage around this eye.
The electric melting pots we offer are not suitable for use with the downrigger molds because the lead cannot be poured into the mold fast enough and the weight will have layers and creases.
CAUTION: When casting large sinkers, you must be careful not to overheat the mold. Rapidly casting large sinkers can transfer a great amount of heat to the mold. Using an overheated mold can cause the wooden handles to char or the aluminum hinges to expand and bind. Allow the mold to cool before further use if either the handles or oil in the hinges starts to smoke. Continuing under extremely hot conditions can damage the mold.
